The Swiss President has today informed Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in Batumi about Russia's attitude to Bern document on the terms of the country's accession to the WTO, the Georgian presidential administration said.

The meeting was held in Batumi behind closed doors.

"The document prepared by Switzerland takes into account Georgia's requirement on the international monitoring of goods and exchange of electronic information on the Georgian-Russian border," the administration said.

Moscow's official position on the document is unknown.

The administration of the Georgian President announced that the latest round of talks on Russia's accession to the WTO between Georgia and Russia under Switzerland's mediation will be held on November 9-10. In case of reaching an agreement, the issue on Russia's accession to the WTO will be considered during the ministerial meeting of 153 WTO member-countries on December 15.

Russia first appealed to join the WTO in 1993.
