Forty companies have expressed their interest in design, supply and construction of Namakhvan HPP in Western Georgia, the Energy Ministry of Georgia told Trend on Friday.
According to the report, they all have submitted tender bids.
The ministry stressed that a company that will provide the best offer to construction operator company, will be selected.
Namakhvan HPP cascade is constructed on the Rioni River and its total capacity will hit 450 megawatts.
The project aims at construction of three HPPs, investment cost of which is estimated at $800 million. The construction should be completed in 2017.
