Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili will pay the first working visit to the US January 28 - February 4.
Beruchashvili will meet with US Vice President Joe Biden, as well as other representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, research centers and media as part of the meeting of foreign ministers of Eastern Europe, spokesman for the Georgian foreign ministry David Kereselidze said at a press conference Jan. 26.
During the visit, Beruchashvili will deliver speech at the conference of the Atlantic Council "Transatlantic Strategy for Eastern Europe".
Beruchashvili will also participate in the discussion at the US Center for Strategic and International Studies, which is one of the oldest and most influential institutions in the field of international politics.
"Beruchashvili will also take part in an official dinner in Washington with the participation of the ambassadors of the Eastern European countries," Kereselidze said.
The main themes of Beruchashvili's visit to the US are security issues, the challenges facing Georgia, the directions of the strategic partnership between Georgia and the US, prospects of intensifying the bilateral cooperation, as well as the Riga Summit and Georgia's democratic development.
