Georgia’s poultry, egg production dropping down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 16

Poultry production in Georgia from January through September 2021 amounted to 33.1 million heads, which is a decrease of 6.4 percent, compared to 35.4 million heads over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Georgia’s poultry exports for the first three quarters of 2021 totaled 4.2 million heads, which is a decrease of 10.6 percent, compared to 4.7 million heads in the same period of 2020.

Imports of poultry products to Georgia over first 9 months of 2021 amounted to 5.2 million heads, which is an increase of 26.8 percent, compared to 4.1 million heads in the reporting period of 2020.

Meanwhile, Georgia’s egg production from January through September 2021 amounted to 478.8 million pieces – a decrease of 5.5 percent, compared to 507.2 million pieces over the same period of 2020.
