Georgia shares data on trade turnover with Azerbaijan

Georgia’s total trade turnover with Azerbaijan from January through December 2021 amounted to $1.1 billion – a 7.9-percent share in the total foreign trade turnover, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The current figure increased by 21.5 percent, compared to $934.4 million over 2020. Azerbaijan’s share in Georgia’s total trade turnover in 2020 accounted for 8.2 percent.

According to Geostat, Azerbaijan ranks 4 among Georgian main trading partners over 2021, which is the same as in 2020.

Meanwhile, Georgia’s imports from Azerbaijan in 2021 amounted to $604.3 million, which is an increase of 17.8 percent, compared to $513.2 million over the same period of 2020. Thus, Azerbaijan ranks 5 among Georgia’s top trading partners by imports over 2021, Geostat said.

Georgian exports to Azerbaijan in 2021 totaled $531.7 million, which is an increase of 20.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2020 ($441.2 million). Azerbaijan ranks 3 among Georgia’s main export partners in 2021, the report said.

Meanwhile, Georgian foreign trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) in 2021 amounted to $14.3 billion, which is 25.6 percent more than over 2020 – $11.3 billion.
