(civil.ge) - Newly appointed Economy Minister Giorgi Arveladze said on November 22 that Georgia adheres to its firm position over Russia's WTO accession and insists Moscow to legalize trade through two border checkpoints - Adleri-Leselidze, at the border between Russia and breakaway Abkhazia, and the Roki Tunnel, at the border between Russia and breakaway South Ossetia, reports Trend.
We have two, very concrete demands. I mean the commitments, which Russia undertook in 2004, however, did not fulfill them. Our principled position is that if these commitments are not met, we will not give go-ahead [to Russia's accession to WTO], the Economy Minister told reporters.
