Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said Wednesday that Israel should shoulder the responsibility for the freeze in the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, Xinhua reported.

The Palestinians and the Arabs have accepted all the international efforts that seek to attain peace, while the current Israeli government continues to reject these efforts and initiatives, Judeh said in a speech.

The minister said resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is a key issue for Jordan, stressing that the kingdom seeks to lead to the creation of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In light of the current Israeli intransigence, Jordan supported the Palestinian National Authority in its efforts to apply for a full membership at the United Nations, Judeh said.

The minister also called on Israel to halt all the unilateral measures, calling for the immediate resumption of the peace talks.

On Syria, Judeh said that Jordan supports all the efforts to restore stability in Syria, which is an important neighbor state to Jordan.

The violence should stop in Syria and the promised reforms should be realized, said the minister, stressing on the importance of preventing any international interference and protecting Syria' s territorial integrity and political independence.
