( dpa ) - More than 20 people were killed Sunday in a suicide bombing attack at a meeting of tribal leaders in north-west Pakistan, local media reports said.
The bomber blew himself up during a grand jirga in Darra Adamkhel in the North-West Frontier Province, close to the country's lawless tribal areas, where Taliban and al-Qaeda militants are based, according to Geo TV and Aaj TV.
Geo TV reported that 22 people were killed, while Aaj reported that 25 died and 20 were injured.
The jirga was being held to affirm support for the Islamabad government in fighting Islamic militancy in the tribal areas, according to the channels.
