Six police officers killed in North Caucasus
At least six police officers were killed in the North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia in an attack on a funeral service for a fellow officer on Sunday, dpa reported according to Russia's Interfax news agency.
An explosive device was detonated at the house in the town of Malgobek where mourners had gathered. Several people including civilians were injured, the report said.
Russian security forces are frequently targeted by militant Islamist separatists in the region. On Friday, four members of the anti-terrorist unit were gunned down in Chechnya.
