President of Russia pays a working visit to Ukraine

(ForUm) - Today the President of Russia Vladimir Putin pays a working visit to Ukraine. The aircraft with the Russian delegation on the board landed in airport Boryspyl.

Putin was met by Viktor Baloha the Head of the Secretariat of the President, Leonid Chernovetsky the Kyiv Mayor, Volodymyr Ohryzko the first deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Viktor Chernomyrdin the Russian ambassador to Ukraine and Oleh Demin the Ukrainian ambassador to Russia, reports Trend.

Presidents of Ukraine and the Russian Federation are supposed to discuss questions on fuel and energy, military-technical cooperation, and also the accession into the WTO.

The president of the Russian Federation also plans to meet the head of the Ukrainian Government Victor Yanukovych. In scope of their meeting general directions of trade and economic cooperation will be discussed.

The session of the committee Yushchenko-Putin will take place under the chairmanship of heads of the States. On the agenda of the session there are the following issues: results on work of structural organs of Ukrainian-Russian committee Yushchenko-Putin in 2006 and arrangements of prime actions in mutual relations for 2007-2008, and urgent questions on mutual relations and arrangement to the second session of the commission.

Moreover, the intergovernmental agreement on mutual right protection of intellectual activity, used and gained during the bilateral military-technical cooperation, is planned to be signed.

The parties are also expected to exchange notes of signing an intergovernmental agreement on amending the active agreement on reciprocal non-visa travels of citizens of Ukraine and RF.

The agreement on cooperation between the Culture and Tourism Ministry of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture and Mass communication of RF is supposed to be signed.

The previous Putin's visit to Kyiv was on March, 19 2005.
