Ukrainian Government addresses President to cancel decree on Parliament dissolution

( ForUm ) - The Ukrainian Government has addressed the Ukrainian Head of State to cancel his Decree on the Parliament's dissolution. The Cabinet of Ministers has proposed to draft and implement a series of coordinated measures with a view of preserving economic stability, ensuring stable development of economy and raising living standards to the population, Cabinet press office reported.

Positive results, which have been achieved during the short period of time, prove that the Government of Viktor Yanukovych has chosen the right way, the address to the President said.

According to the document, over the first quarter of 2007 alone the paces of GDP growth increased threefold and budgetary revenues grew by 36%. Output grew almost in all branches and regions.

Now, the politics prevail over economic and social policies again. The Government is seriously concerned over these developments. We cannot and have no right to forget the situation, which the country suffered in late 2004, the letter said.

We are confident that social-economic transformations, real steps to improvement of the citizens' life are those grounds, common achievement, on which united efforts for further cooperation among the President, Parliament, Government and other political forces must be based on.

That is why we propose to suspend or even cancel the Decree on disbanding the VR, to jointly draft and implement the complex of events to preserve economic stability, sustainable development and improvement of living standards, the Government's letter to the President said.
