Ukraine’s president appointed Medvedko the Prosecutor General and signed law on early elections

( ForUm ) - The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has restored Olexander Medvedko in Prosecutor General post, the President's Secretariat head Viktor Baloha informed. The President restored decree of November 4, 2006 on Medvedko appointment Prosecutor General. Baloha wished Medvedko success in his post and expressed hope that in such a way the conflict around Prosecutor General will be solved.

The President Viktor Yushchenko also signed changes introduced by the VRU to the law on the early parliamentary elections. The first vice chairman of the VRU Adam Martynyuk informed on Friday.

Viktor Yushchenko considers the law on early parliamentary elections will provide democratic election campaign.

"I am convinced that on the whole we have law and norms that will provide democratic elections," he said on Saturday during the meeting with BYuT and OU factions.

At the same time, Yushchenko noted that this law still has many "archaic points."

In turn Vyacheslav Kyrylenko the OU leader noted that after elections this law must be significantly changed.
