Over 3 million tourists arrived in Turkey by air in October 2019

Some 3.3 million people out of 4.2 million tourists who visited Turkey in October 2019 arrived by air, which is 79 percent of the total number of tourists, a source in the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry told Trend Dec. 3.
In October 2019, 136,139 tourists arrived by sea, which is 3 percent of the total number, the ministry said, and 764,355 tourists arrived in Turkey by vehicles and railway.
The ministry noted that in October 2019, 1.6 million people arrived in the Turkish province of Antalya, while 1.3 million tourists arrived in Istanbul by air.
“From January through October 2019, 31.6 million tourists arrived in Turkey by air, which makes 77.7 percent of their total number,” the ministry said.
Over 4.2 million tourists visited Turkey in October 2019, which is 14.2 percent more compared to October 2018.
During the reporting period, over 1.6 million people visited Antalya, while over 1.3 million tourists visited Istanbul.
From January through October 2019, over 40.7 million tourists visited Turkey, which is 14.2 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
