Cargo transshipment from Bulgaria via Turkish ports in 1Q2020 disclosed

Cargo transshipment from Bulgaria via Turkish ports made up 978,869 tons from January through March 2020, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on May 8.

During 1Q2020, 406,140 tons of cargo were transshipped from Bulgaria through Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, and the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 572,729 tons.

According to the ministry, no cargo was transported over the reporting period by ships flying the Bulgarian flag through Turkish ports.

Meanwhile, 295,654 tons of cargo were transited by ships from Bulgaria via Turkish ports.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo carried by ships via Turkish ports amounted to over 94.6 million tons.

The volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 7.4 million tons from January through March 2020, the ministry said.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 3.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 83.1 million tons from January through March 2020.

Over the reporting period, 18.4 million tons of cargo was transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 32.1 million tons in March 2020.

The volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.8 million tons in March 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 1.3 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 27.9 million tons.

According to ministry, 5.9 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
