The exports of defense products from Turkey to global markets decreased by 13.5 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $1.8 billion, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.
According to the ministry, Turkey’s exports of defense industry products made up 1.3 percent of the country's total exports for the reporting period.
In October 2020, Turkey exported $287.9 million worth of defense products to international markets, which is 11.6 percent more compared to the same month of 2019, the ministry said.
Turkey’s exports of defense industry products in October 2020 accounted for 1.7 percent of the country's total exports.
Over the past 12 months (from October 2019 through October 2020), Turkey exported defense products worth over $2.45 billion abroad, the ministry said.
