BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. The number of passengers arriving at Istanbul International Airport amounted to 76 million people (an increase of 18 percent) in December 2023, Trend reports.
The data of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye shows that the airport's passenger traffic on domestic flights increased by 13 percent and amounted to more than 18 million people, and on international flights - by 20 percent, amounting to 55.2 million people, in December 2023.
The airport's cargo turnover amounted to 2.67 million tons in December this year, a decrease of one percent compared to the same period in 2022. The airport's cargo turnover on domestic flights increased by 6 percent and amounted to 219,113 tons, on international flights decreased by 2 percent, amounting to 2.45 million tons compared to the same period in 2022.
The number of airport flights in December 2023 increased by 19 percent compared to December 2022 and amounted to 506,055. At the same time, the number of domestic flights increased by 15 percent and amounted to 126,343, and international flights - by 20 percent, amounting to 379,712.
Passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye amounted to more than 214 million people, and cargo turnover - 4.211 million tons, in December 2023.
Meanwhile, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye amounted to 181.9 billion people, while cargo turnover - 4 billion tons, in 2022.
