Tehran, Iran, Jan. 9

Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned that 'the enemies' are working hard to create division among the Shias and the Sunnis.
"It is upon Muslims across the world to promote unity in the face of threats," he said, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported Jan 9.
"Enemy spy services are behind the efforts to sow disunity among Muslims,' Ayatollah Khamenei added.
"A Shia version connected to the British spy agency - the MI6 - and a Sunni version, which is the mercenary of the CIA, are both fake and working against Islam," he said.
"Certain countries of the region have put the confrontation with Iran at the center of their foreign policy agenda," Iran's leader noted, adding that this is a big mistake and against the common sense.
"Iran has always been trying to put friendship with its Muslim neighbors at the top of its foreign policy," Ayatollah Khamenei said. He went on to note that Muslims showed their unity on Arba'een, and the whole world bowed to this unity.
Millions of people from across the world flocked to Iraqi city of Karbala to commemorate Arba'een, a religious mourning ceremony observed by Shia Muslims.
Arba'een marks 40 days after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein , the third Shia Imam and the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
