Kazakhstan can become a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2013, Prime news agency quoted WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy as saying on Thursday.
"Kazakhstan is at a quite advanced stage of negotiations for WTO joining. I suppose Kazakhstan can join the WTO even this year," Lamy said on the sidelines of the Gaidar Forum in Moscow.
The WTO was established in 1995. Its goal is liberalization of international trade and regulation of trade and political relations between the member states. More than 150 countries are the WTO members.
