Azerbaijan, Baku, April 28 /Trend H.Veliyev/

Azerbaijani postal operator - Azerpoct plans to begin providing services to cash on delivery, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend on Saturday.

Cash on delivery service is - a way of calculation between recipient and sender (seller), payment for goods shipped, in which the Postal Service takes the obligations to deliver the goods to the recipient only after payment of the agreed amount, which transfered to the sender.

In the case of non-payment, the goods returned to the sender only after a formal request.

Payment for transportation services can be performed both by the sender and recipient. The payment system operates on a standard scheme of estimating the cost of transportation of goods and payment.

This service is particularly attractive for e-commerce, where the postal operator acts as an intermediary in delivery, and is committed to the transfer payment.

The service is widely used in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan and the Baltic countries.
