Government: Non-oil sector share in Azerbaijan's GDP to exceed 70 percent in 2016

The Azerbaijani government expects GDP growth to hit 5.3 percent or 56.1 billion manat in 2013, this is stated in the draft concept of Azerbaijani socio-economic development for 2013 and the next three years, prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development and published on the website of the Finance Ministry.

The Azerbaijani government expects GDP growth to hit 5.3 percent or 56.1 billion manat in 2013, this is stated in the draft concept of Azerbaijani socio-economic development for 2013 and the next three years, prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development and published on the website of the Finance Ministry.

According to the forecasts, the country's GDP will reach 57.62 billion manat in 2014, in 2015 - 62.03 billion manat, in 2016 - 66.54 billion manat, the real pace of the economic growth - 7 percent, 4.5 percent and 4 5 percent, respectively.

The growth of non-oil GDP in 2013 is expected to reach 11.7 percent, in 2014 - by 7.7 percent, in 2015 - 6.8 percent, in 2016 - 6.6 percent, while oil GDP is expected to decrease by 2.9 percent, 0.1 percent and 0.2 percent respectively in 2013, 2015 and 2016 years. Oil GDP is expected to increase by 5.9 percent in 2014.

According to the government forecasts, the share of oil sector in the country's GDP will continue to decline. It will hit 38.6 percent in 2013 compared to 43.4 percent in 2012, 33.7 percent - in 2014, 31.4 percent - in 2015, 29.4 percent - in 2016.

The share of non-oil GDP in the country's economy will increase. It will hit 61.4 percent in 2013 compared to 56.6 percent in 2012, 66.3 percent - in 2014, 68.6 percent - in 2015, 70.6 percent - in 2016.

The private sector share of GDP over the next four years will not fall below 82 percent. By the end of the year this figure will reach 83.5 percent, in 2013 - 83.1 percent, in 2014 - 83.1 percent, in 2015 - 82.8 percent, in 2016 - 82.7 percent.
The official exchange rate is 0.7852 AZN/USD on Oct. 16.
