U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, Thomas O. Melia has arrived in Azerbaijan, the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend on Wednesday.
"Melia visited the country last night and his visit will run until Friday," the Embassy said.
It is planned that during his visit Melia will meet with local officials, and the parties will discuss the issues of human rights and democracy.
It is also expected that the Melia will meet with Azerbaijani civil society representatives.
