Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 23

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) is interested in increasing the number of foreign airlines flying to Azerbaijani regions, AZAL Vice-President Arif Mammadov told reporters Oct. 23.
He said the issue of attracting foreign companies to operate flights to the regions of Azerbaijan is currently a pressing topic for AZAL.
"During the past two years, the frequency of flights to Azerbaijan's regions from foreign countries has increased significantly," said Mammadov. "We have informed the airlines that we are ready to provide discounts for flights to the country's regions - to Gabala, Lankaran and Ganja."
"We have even provided them with favorable terms to keep the existing flights in the winter season," said Mammadov.
