The Charter and Regulation of the Azerbaijani State Fund for Labor Protection will be approved within a short period, Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev told reporters in Baku, Trend reports on Oct. 14.
“The work on the preparation of the Charter of the Fund is underway together with the relevant state agencies,” the minister said. “The work is nearing completion. Afterwards, the Fund will begin to fully operate.”
“The financing of research work on labor protection is defined as one of the spheres of use of the Fund’s funds,” Babayev said. “This stimulates the conduct of scientific research aimed at improving the labor protection system. The Fund’s finances will also be used to increase the personnel potential for labor protection in the country and to train labor safety specialists in various sectors of the economy.
“These funds will also be used to prepare norms, standards and rules of labor protection, work on raising awareness and advocacy in the field of labor protection, and create and develop material and technical base of state structures operating in this field,” the minister said. “In particular, the Fund will render great support in the procurement of the necessary technological devices, tools and equipment.”
“The control measures and monitoring in this sphere will be carried out; state and regional programs in the field of labor relations, employment, social protection and welfare will be prepared and implemented through the Fund’s resources,” Babayev added.
“The Fund’s means are formed through voluntary contributions of insurers from industrial accidents and disability due to occupational diseases, contributions of enterprises and citizens through other payments,” the minister said. “The Fund will be administered by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, which will manage its funds via a special treasury account.”
