Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend / On 24 September, Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev and Romanian President Traian Basescu, together with their wives, participated in the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani Heydar Aliyev Foundation representative office in the centre of Bucharest.
The Azerbaijani President was informed that the opening of the Romanian branch of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was made by order of the Romanian Prime Minister after the set of the respective proposals had been undersigned by Romania's Agency for International Research, the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences, the Health Ministry, the Foreign Ministry, the Justice Ministry, the Culture and Education Ministry, the Romanian Deputy Prime Minister and discussed at the full-composition meeting of the Romanian Cabinet. The order took effect after it was published in the Romania's official public bulletin and approved by the Supreme Court of the country.
Humanitarian activities of the Romanian representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation were supported by the community of the country. The office took guardianship over an old people's home. The building of the representative office located in the centre of Bucharest was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century and is an architectural monument.
The Azerbaijani and Romanian Presidents both participated in the opening of the representative office by cutting up the symbolic red ribbon.
The Presidents looked round the office and left signed the Honorary Guests' Book. They then planted a tree in the office's courtyard.
The head of the Renamed Forma medical centre, Daian Babesku, presented the Azerbaijani president with a copy of the decision on appellation of Heydar Aliyev name to the medical centre's dialysis and neurology clinic located in Cryova city.
