Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / The Committee for Protection of Freedom of Speech will bring the Baku Executive Power to court, the chair of the Committee Eldar Namazov said to Trend.
Baku Executive Power did not allow the organization to hold a demonstration in the Ukrainian Square on 8 December, and instead offered a stadium in Bibiheybet settlement for that purpose. Organizers examined the stadium and revealed that it was not suitable for demonstrations.
The Committee is developing an appeal to submit it to court. They will urge to assess the illegal actions of the Baku Executive Power and to take measures against it.
"We know that courts do not make independent decisions, but the purpose of our appeal to court is to pass all local courts and to reach the European Court," Namazov said.
