A protest scheduled for Jan. 25 by the Georgian United Opposition will not be held, Secretary General of the For United Georgia party Yekaterina Beseliya told Trend .
"We have decided to change our tactics and canceled the Jan. 25 protest," she said. "We have called on the opposition to launch a united movement demanding President [Mikheil] Saakashvili's resignation and snap presidential and parliamentary elections."
There is no time for a protest, she said. More effective means must be sought to tackle the regime, she added.
