Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy presented in Moscow

The Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy was presented in the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow. The presentation was held by Aygun Hajiyeva Deputy Director of the Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy's foreign policy program.

Five meetings were organized and held to present magistrate program of the Academy in Russia, including in Russia's Diplomatic Academy and Moscow State Institute of International Relations under the Russian Federation's Foreign Ministry on Feb. 19-20, she said.

Hajiyeva spoke of creation of philosophy in the Academy. She presented the academic town in Dede Korkut park situated in the center of Baku via photos and video slides. A new complex of the Academy will be located there in 2011.

Presently, the Academy is situated in three-storied building near the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. It is planned to admit 25 students from September 2009, she said. Full complex of opportunities and services has been created and will be extended in the Academy which will allow students of the Academy to get education at the high level, she said.

The library having no analogues in the Republic will operate in the Academy. Nearly 100,000 books on international relations and diplomacy were bought in the U.S upon the corresponding contracts, Hajiyeva said.

Presenting program on foreign policy, Hajiyeva said that it is implemented at three levels: for diplomats entering the diplomatic service lately, for those who have been working in the Foreign Ministry for 5-10 years and for more experienced managing staff. Approximately 25 students are planned to enter the Academy in September 2009. Foreigners total about 25-30 percent, she said.

"We prepare diplomats on six main directions. New specialty on the Caspian region study is planned to be opened in the Academy from 2009," Hajiyeva said.

Annual study in the Academy costs 4,750 manat but there are four kinds of scholarship-research programs, the representative of the Academy said.

"The first of them is Heydar Aliyev Scholarship enabling to pay for study completely, the second one - Zeynalabdin Tagiyev's Scholarship enabling to reduce annual payment by 50 percent and two research programs of the Academy, Hajiyeva said.

The institute of higher education has been already presented in Georgia. Similar meeting is planned to be held in Saint-Petersburg, as well as Pakistan, Czechia and some European countries next week.
