The NATO assessment team has appreciated the reforms implemented by the Georgian Defense Ministry in 2009, the ministry reported.

The ministry hosted a final meeting with the NATO assessment team comprising five experts, headed by Head of Force Planning Department of NATO Defence Policy and Planning Division, Frank Boland.

The visit aimed at assessing the obligations, undertaken under the Annual National Program (ANP) and the Planning and Review Process (PARP) of the Georgian Defense.

The heads of the ministry's structural units and the Joint Staff of the Armed forces also attended the meetings from Georgia.

The NATO experts will leave Georgia on Sept.11.
