In March, a group of foreigners with a small amount of enriched uranium was detained in Georgia, the Georgian Interior Ministry reported.
"We are investigating the facts. The Georgian side has already notified the IAEA of this fact. But seized radioactive substances are stored in a safe place. More information will be available after the investigation," the Georgian Interior Ministry said.
On Tuesday, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili first spoke about detention of the group with enriched uranium at a summit on nuclear safety, but he did not go into details of the case.
