It would be better if the Armenian delegation corrects situation in its country, instead of blaming Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva said at the discussions over the report "The activities of democratic institutions in Azerbaijan" in PACE.

During his speech, French deputy Rene Ruke subjected Azerbaijan to criticism and justified the French MPs' visit to the Nagorno-Karabakh. Pashayeva, in turn, asked Ruke, whether some Azerbaijani citizen may travel to any region of France without a French visa and voice claims against its territorial integrity, and what will the reaction of the French authorities in this case.

"France and the PACE recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Of course, the reaction of the Azerbaijani state and its officials will be very negative not regarding personality of individuals visiting the occupied regions without consent and permission of the Azerbaijani state and making reports against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. France recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. I would recommend you at least to respect the decisions and the official position of your country," Pashayeva said.

In response to speech of Armenian delegation's member Armen Rustamian, who accused Azerbaijan of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and violation of the ceasefire regime and attack to the Armenian armed forces a few days ago, Pashayeva expressed regret that Rustamian provided false information about Azerbaijan to the PACE.

"All countries except Armenia, all international organizations, including UN and Council of Europe recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The PACE resolution 1416 stated that Armenia has occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory and turned the one million Azerbaijanis into refugees and IDPs. Armenian MP gives completely false information here. Regions that Rustamian named are the Azerbaijani territory. What do the Armenian armed forces do in these regions? Rustamian will not be able to answer. Because, the Armainan armed forces occupied the Azerbaijani territories and military forces were deployed in the occupied territories. These militaries constantly violate the ceasefire regime.  Everyone should know that today Armenia is engaged in the creation of tensions in the region," Pashayeva noted.

Pashayeva also expressed attitude towards accusations of another Armenian MP Hermine Naghdalyan in connection with human rights in Azerbaijan.

"Does an official representative of the country that occupied 20 percent of the Azerbaijani lands before the eyes of the modern world, turned one million Azerbaijanis into refugees and IDPs, killed thousands of innocent Azerbaijanis and committed a genocide against civilians in the Khojaly, as well as that holds dozens of Azerbaijanis in hostage, have a right to talk about human rights or democracy? Of course, does not. The Armenian delegation should carefully read the PACE resolution concerning the state of democracy and human rights in Armenia. We know at what level is the Armenian position in this field. Therefore, instead of to blame Azerbaijan, it would be better if they fix a situation in their country," Pashayeva said.
