The ideological path defined by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev always takes the Azerbaijani people forward, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Mubariz Gurbanli in an interview with the official site of the NAP.
"The fundamental principles of our statehood will always play the role of ideological base for the Azerbaijani people. And Azerbaijanism stands on these principles. Today, President Ilham Aliyev successfully implements the policy of Heydar Aliyev. Our country has become a regional leader, in terms of economic development, it transformed into one of the advanced countries worldwide," said Gurbanli.
National Leader Heydar Aliyev first came to power in Azerbaijan in July 1969. During his leadership, Azerbaijan became one of the most advanced countries of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) for economic development. Second time, Heydar Aliyev came to power in the period of independence of Azerbaijan and made a significant contribution to the development of Azerbaijani statehood. Exactly during his leadership, Azerbaijan withdrew from the serious political and economic crisis, taking a path of successful development.
Gurbanli said that the fundamental principles of Azerbaijani statehood defined by Heydar Aliyev will always play the role of the ideological base for the Azerbaijani people.
"Great Leader Heydar Aliyev's coming to political power in Azerbaijan was of great economic, political, social, spiritual, psychological and ideological significance. Coming to power 41 years ago, Heydar Aliyev not only brought Azerbaijan forward in economic terms. This led to great changes and development in the spiritual sphere, psychological state, national consciousness of the Azerbaijani people.
Gurbanli said that Heydar Aliyev has defined the fundamental principles of statehood of Azerbaijan.
"These principles are important for Azerbaijan today as well. They will be used by our people in future," said Gurbanli.
