The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister, Audronius Ažubalis, condemned today a suicide bomb attack in Aktobe in western Kazakhstan that injured several people, the OSCE said in a statement.

"I strongly condemn this terrorist act. The OSCE and Lithuania do not accept terrorism in any form and make every effort to combat it. I wish a speedy recovery to all those injured in the explosion," Ažubalis said.

The blast occurred this morning at the building of the department of the National Security Committee, which wounded four people.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the explosion occurred as a result of suicide bomb attack of Rakhimzhan Makatova, a member of an organized criminal group.

However, eyewitnesses of the incident say that the suicide bomber had a martyr belt, ITAR-TASS reported.

Kazakhstan is famous for its stability in Central Asia and attracts international investors. Terrorist attacks are an extreme rarity here.
