Some political forces in Azerbaijan have monopolized the opposition, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) Sardar Jalaloglu told Trend.

He said these forces are trying to discredit any idea proposed by other opposition leaders.
"From this point of view, it is considered that as though the People's Parliament, which was initiated by ADP, is an alternative to the Public Chamber. But it is wrong to assume that this structure is created as an alternative to the Public Chamber. The Public Chamber is not playing the role of symbolic Parliament, members of this structure are more than 400 people and is governed by the coordinating council. In addition, they do not carry any of the ideas proposed by us. There is no similarity in form or in ideas or in content," said Jalaloglu.

The ADP chairman also spoke about the idea of his party.

"There is an idea to establish a symbolic parliament, and we want to establish an initiative group for this. The idea has not fully been developed, because it has to be finally formulated. We do not rush with this issue, we have no intention to implement this idea in a hurry. We want to meet with other friends, find out their opinion," said Jalaloglu.

He said as the Parliament of Azerbaijan is formed on the basis of a majority, in the created symbolic parliament, no party will be highlighted.

"We decided that neither Iqbal Aghazadeh, nor I, despite our participation in this parliament, will not be in its leadership," said Jalaloglu.
