The n ew Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia Andrzej Tyszkiewicz , will arrive in Georgia on July 27 . As EUMM told Trend, Tyszkiewicz took up his duties on July 18.
Tyszkiewicz will attend a meeting regarding establishing an infrastructure incident prevention and response. The meeting is to be held in the Dvani village on the border with the Tskhinvali region on July 28.
Before arriving in Georgia he will hold several introductory meetings and briefings in Brussels, the EUMM reported.
Former head of the EUMM Hansjörg Haber completed his mission in Georgia in late March.
The EUMM mandate has been set until Sept. 14 and its extension is included in the competence of the Council of the European Union.
