The Azerbaijani and Argentine foreign ministries held political consultations on Friday, the ministry told Trend.

The delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov from the Azerbaijani side and Deputy Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Norma Nascimbene De Dumont from the Argentine side.

The sides stressed a wide potential to develop bilateral ties. They stressed the interest in expanding ties in the political, commercial, economic and humanitarian fields.

Deputy Minister Khalafov informed the Argentine side about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the process of its settlement. Khalafov stressed the importance of relations between Azerbaijan and Argentina, and their further strengthening. He stressed that the inter-parliamentary relations play a significant role in the development of bilateral relations.

Dumont said that Argentina appreciates the current potential and large-scale projects in Azerbaijan. She emphasized her country's interest in the comprehensive development of relations with Azerbaijan.

The parties also stressed the importance to continue developing the legal base between the two countries.
