The legality of the decision on Rustam Ibrahimbayov's candidacy is beyond any doubt, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Natig Mammadov told Trend on Wednesday.
He went on to note that it was an official decision.
"Everything is clearly stated in this decision in terms of logic and the law," Deputy Chairman of CEC added.
"If someone challenges this decision, it is their business," he stressed.
On August 27 CEC adopted a decision not to register Rustam Ibrahimbayov's candidacy for participation in presidential elections nominated by the National Council's initiative group.
The reason for this decision was the fact that Rustam Ibrahimbayov has a double citizenship (Russian and Azerbaijani), has obligations to Russia and other issues.
