New president elected to European Commission

Jean-Claude Juncker has been today elected by the European Parliament as the new president of the European Commission.
Some 422 MEPs out of 751 voted on July 15 to support Juncker's candidacy, with 376 being the minimum number of votes required, European Parliament's website said.
Juncker was nominated to this position by the European People's Party (EPP).
He previously served as the prime minister of Luxembourg.
