The selection of judges for the European Court of Human Rights began in Azerbaijan, the Judicial Council told Trend.
The Council invites all judicial associations, the Bar Association, NGOs and other institutions to nominate their candidates. Candidates may also be nominated individually.
The candidate must be a lawyer, have experience in the field of human rights protection, fluent in one of the official languages of the Council of Europe (English or French), and satisfactory in the other one.
Applications will be accepted until October 15. An application may be submitted in person or sent by mail, it can be also filled in via electronic form on the web page of the Council (www.jlc.gov.az ).
