Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade met with Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, who is on a visit to Baku, the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan told Trend May 12.
Stressing that Turkey and Azerbaijan have close relations since ancient times, Rasizade expressed satisfaction over the fact that the traditional relations between the two countries are to be expanded to strategic partnership by further development in the modern period.
As he underlined the importance of further strengthening of the political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries, Rasizade said that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey is effective in the fields of transport, telecommunication, trade and others.
Babacan expressed gratitude to Rasizade for the reception. He said that Turkey and Azerbaijan established stable and reliable cooperation.
With the two countries having prospects of cooperation in various fields, Babacan said that Turkey and Azerbaijan will continue supporting each other.
Babacan then informed Rasizade on the issues to be discussed at a regional business forum in Baku within the G-20 platform, and views on issues of mutual interest were exchanged.
