The visit of the US President’s National Security Adviser John Bolton to Azerbaijan opens up new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, Deputy Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said in an interview with John Batchelor Show, a famous American radio program that has a wide audience of listeners.

During the interview, Hajiyev talked about John Bolton's visit to Azerbaijan, Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan and the settlement process of the conflict, the VI Baku International Humanitarian Forum, success achieved by Azerbaijan during the years of independence, the country's energy policy, regional cooperation and relations with neighboring states.

The John Batchelor show is dedicated to current international, military, political and economic topics. The program is widely broadcast by numerous radio channels, both live and as podcasts in various states and cities that are covered by the ABC Radio network in the US.

During the program, Hikmat Hajiyev noted that Azerbaijan is an important state from a strategic point of view and during John Bolton's visit to Azerbaijan useful discussions were held with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Hajiyev stressed that the visit opens up new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, security, fight against terrorism, etc.

Speaking about regional cooperation and energy projects initiated by Azerbaijan, Hajiyev stressed that Armenia's ongoing aggression against Azerbaijan remains the main threat to regional security. He added that in order to achieve progress in the settlement of the conflict, Armenia must withdraw its troops from the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

Mentioning Azerbaijan's achievements over 27 years of independence, Hajiyev focused on the VI Baku International Humanitarian Forum held on October 25-26, said that this global forum is an important platform for discussing humanitarian issues at the international level. He stressed that Azerbaijan is dynamically developing and is a modern, secular state proud of its multiculturalism traditions.
