BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. Azerbaijan has established fines for the activities of political parties without state registration, Trend reports.
This is reflected in the law on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
Individuals will be fined from 700 manat ($411.8) to 1,000 manat ($588.2) for the activities of a political party without state registration.
Individuals will be fined in the amount of 700 manat ($411.8) to 1,000 manat ($588.2), officials – in the amount of 1,500 manat ($882.4) to 2,000 manat ($1,176.5), and legal entities – in the amount of 6,000 manat ($3,529.4) to 8,000 manat ($4,705.9) for participating in the functioning of a political party in any form during the suspension of its activities or in the event of the liquidation of its state registration, including the performance or functioning of party bodies (structural subdivisions) and party members on behalf of a political party, holding meetings, carrying out financial transactions or for participating in the organization of its illegal activities or in the work of the party.
In addition, individuals will be fined from 700 manat ($411.8) to 1,000 manat ($588.2) if they commit any actions related to the activities of the party, including for making decisions or signing documents with the bodies (structural units) of a political party whose registration has expired.
Moreover, individuals will be fined in the amount of 1,500 manat ($882.4) to 2,000 manat ($1,176.5), officials – in the amount of from 3,000 manat ($1,764.7) to 5,000 manat ($2,941.2), and legal entities – in the amount of 10,000 manat ($5,882.4) to 15,000 manat ($8,823.5) for a repeat offense within one year from the date of entry into force of an administrative penalty by a person who received an administrative penalty for these offenses.
