BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 25. On September 25, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Elina Valtonen on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Trend reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
An exchange of views on cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and Finland in bilateral and multilateral formats took place during the meeting, including issues arising in connection with Finland's chairmanship of the OSCE in 2025. Issues of regional and international security were also discussed.
It was noted that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change could create additional opportunities for cooperation.
The other side was informed in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, about the progress of the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It was emphasized that the ongoing territorial claims against Azerbaijan in Armenian legislation, as well as the rapid armament of this country, are the main factors threatening the sustainable peacebuilding process in the region.
During the meeting, an exchange of views on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest also took place.
