The opening of the Russian Year in Azerbaijan has been preliminarily scheduled for 23 February 2006, Mustafa Karimov, an adviser of the Azerbaijani embassy in Moscow, told Trend.
According to Karimov, the date of the event, however, is still to be made precise.
The diplomat confirmed the announcements on the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the solemn celebrations in Baku. The preparations for Putin’s visit to Azerbaijan will start after the January holidays, he underscored.
