Poland interested in comprehensive development of co-op with Azerbaijan вЂ" Polish Amb

Poland is interested in the comprehensive development of cooperation with Azerbaijan, Kshishtof Krayevskiy, the Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told a news conference on Thursday.

Summarizing the results of activities done in 2005, the diplomat said that it was rich with mutual visits during which the two countries mulled perspectives of bilateral cooperation and signed several agreements. The Ambassador said that Azerbaijan and Poland have 8 agreements covering cooperation in the economic, customs, military-technical spheres.

Nevertheless, the Ambassador assures that it is still unsatisfactory level of goods turnover between the two countries, which comprised only $50m this year, or too low for the existing potential.

According to Krayevskiy, an intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which is currently in the sphere of formation, will resolve all issues. The diplomat said that the co-chairs of the commission will be defined by the end of the year.

Krayevskiy voiced his satisfaction with the level of cooperation in the culture, science and humanitarian sectors, where good relationships have been established.

Touching upon the political relationships the diplomat assured that Poland supports Azerbaijan in its integration in the European bodies and is ready to share experience in this sphere.
