Issues of practical implementation of a Catalogue of Confidence of the Council of Interaction and Confidence Measures in Asia (CICMA) will be discussed in a meeting of a special working group, to be held in Astana mid-February, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan told Trend.
During the session the special working group will hold an exchange of opinions on the application of confidence measures in the economic, ecologic and humanitarian spheres, as well as measures of confidence in the sphere of struggle with new challenges and threats.
A Catalogue of Confidence was adopted in a meeting of Foreign Ministers of CICMA in October 2004. The Catalogue is a scheme of CICMA members on the establishment of terms for by-stage transition from confrontation to development of common interests. CICMA unites Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Israel, China, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Ukraine, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and the United States enjoy a status of observer in the organization.
