Pakistan ready to render assistance to Azerbaijan in peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Pakistan is ready to render assistance to Azerbaijan in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem,Trend reports quoting Muhammad Hafiz, the Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan, as saying to journalists.

The Pakistani Ambassador noted that the visit of Musharraf Parviz, the Pakistani President, to Azerbaijan in 2004 and the visit of Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, to Pakistan in April 2005 stimulated establishment of interstate relations and friendly ties. Hafiz also stressed that these relations and ties continued to expand. Pakistan always supports Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, while Azerbaijan backs up Pakistan in the Kashmir issue. We will support Azerbaijan in the peaceful regulation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he added.

The Pakistani Ambassador also touched upon the bilateral military cooperation between the countries. He stressed that at present the cooperation aimed at training of military personnel in Azerbaijan. Our experts permanently hold meetings and exchange of opinions to determine the fields, where the cooperation relations may develop, he underlined.
