Turkish PM invites US President to attend opening of BTC pipeline

The Turkish Prime Minister Rejep Tayyub Erdogan invited US President George Bush to take part in an official opening ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), which will be held in Ceyhan on 13 July, Trend reports citing the Turkish media.

An invitation was sent to the White House through the US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

The United States is still to answer, while Washington promises to be represented in the ceremony in top level.

Though the first tanker with Azerbaijani oil will be fulfilled on 27 May, the busy schedule of the heads of states made defer the official opening ceremony of this large-scale project to 13 July.
