At 22 May summit Foreign Ministers of GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) passed a recommendation on a new name of organization - "Organization for democracy and economic development GUAM" to be approved by presidents of member-countries of the unity, Trend reports with reference to Georgian Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry officials said FMs also approved Kiev declaration for establishment of "Organization for democracy and economic development GUAM"; as well as joint declaration for conflict resolution, charter of the organization, communiquГ©, US-GUAM joint declaration, rules of organization, financial statement of organization and charter of secretariat.
Ministers said the organization will be aimed at boosting democracy, law domination protection, respect for rights and basic freedoms of humans, economic development of the countries and ensuring security and stability in the region. They confirmed GUAMs intention to develop partnership with the US and other states and organizations.
Too, ministers signed the agreement for aid in training diplomatic personnel, as well as a number of documents defining prospects of cooperation within the new organization.
