Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / The chairman of the Ana Vatan Party (AVP), MP Fazail Aghamaly, stated on 18 May that in case the Disciplinary Committee of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) did not annul the reprimand he had received, he would apply to the Speaker.

The chairman of the AVP does not consider himself to be guilty of the scuffle that appeared between him and MP Huseyn Abdullyaev at the Parliament on 16 March. "The Disciplinary Committee should annul the reprimand," Aghamaly said.

Aghamaly is not aware of the date when the Disciplinary Committee will consider his appeal. "I believe there is no need to delay it. My appeal should be considered in near future," MP said.

The chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, MP Aghajan Abiyev, reported that the appeal of Aghamaly will be considered without fail, but avoided calling the date.

A wrangle between the MPs Huseyn Abdullayev and Fazail Aghamaly that occurred in the Parliament on 16 March came to blows. Abdullayev was deprived of immunity of a deputy at the parliamentary emergency meeting on 19 March and detained on the same day. The Baku City Sabail District Court sentenced Abdullayev to 2-year suspended imprisonment. The Disciplinary Committee issued a reprimand to Aghamali.
