Azerbaijani Opposition party to Hold Untraditional Mass Actions

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / The opposition party of Umid will hold untraditional mass actions in autumn, the chairman of the party, Igbal Agazadeh , reported.

According to Agazadeh , the party has postponed the mass events scheduled for the summer. During the summer, the chairman of the Umid party will visit regions and hold meetings with citizens of Azerbaijan. Agazadeh has already met with the members of the party and the population of Shaki region and Sumgayit city. Agazadeh reported that mass actions would begin in Baku from September. The events will be untraditional. Agazadeh refused to comment any further on the matter. He noted that the meetings will be approved.

The opposition party of Umid was founded in 1993. In 2002, the Umid merged with the Civil Solidarity Party. The head of the Civil Solidarity Party was elected the chairman of Umid. At present Agazadeh is an MP of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).
